Music video for the song “These Days” from the 2011 album “Wasting Light”. Directed by Jay Hollinsworth, commissioned by RCA/Sony as a part of the “This Video Sucks” promotional campaign.
“Coffee-Hawking” is a wham-bang musical adventure surrealist adventure that hinges on the use and abuse of our favorite stimulant.
Best of Austin Short Films:
“What It’s Like” – Matt Naylor
What It’s Like is a true story. John – a magazine writer – visits Mastow, a complete stranger living in a retirement home. John has only a room number and a name, both written on the back of a Chinese food menu beside a single, circled word: ‘Mushrooms.’ What starts as a bizarre transaction becomes a moment of connection. This is a story about being afraid to get old. It’s about the ways in which losing people affects us. It’s about talking with people from a different generation. It’s also kind of about hallucinogens.
“Touch”
Directed By: Drew Ott
“Depth of Phil” – Jack Daniel Stanley
Amidst delusions of saving failed U.S. banks and car companies, an aging homeless man reconnects with a long-lost sweetheart via Facebook in this quirky tragicomedy.

0The Show! is excited to be at Austin Studios for a NIGHT OF ENTERTAINMENT on Friday July 13th with HOST, comedian Lashonda Lester!
This is a great time to check out The Show! if you haven’t already after our FIRST YEAR of monthly Events at the 29th St. Ballroom at The Spider House as we will be touring the AUSTIN STUDIOS facility and for the first time are featuring The Transmedia Austin Group where Austin Web Media Professionals will be showing their work for a live audience. The Show! is a Show and Tell for Austin Filmmakers and as a filmmaker it is a great place to meet other filmmakers and see their work first hand as Filmmakers are ALWAYS IN ATTENDANCE. Not only do you meet talented Producers and Indie Directors, but also the best actors and actresses you can watch first hand and CAST in your next movie!
So many times at meet up groups, you meet other Producers but only have a hand shake and a business card to tell you who they are. At The Show! you can see talent first hand and JUDGE FOR YOURSELF. Film festivals in Austin only happen about twice a year, giving filmmakers very limited exposure to what Austin has to offer, but The Show! give filmmakers a chance once a month to meet NEW talent.
We have as always, a killer line up of short films with a few suprises this time.

BEST OF AUSTIN SHORT FILMS:
The Man Who Never Cried - By Bradley Jackson
Ralph Winston has never cried; not when he was a baby, not when his heart was crushed by his high school sweetheart, not even when he first saw Stephen Spielberg’s E.T. So when his father dies, Ralph – at the age of 32 – decides to embark upon a true emotional journey with hopes to shed his first tear before the funeral – and before it’s too late. Similar to films like Big Fish and Amelie, The Man Who Never Cried is a modern day fable that plumbs the depth of human emotion by showcasing equal amounts of hilarity and heart break. It’ll make you laugh, think – it might even make you cry.
